Originally released back in 2009, "On A Dubstep Tip" rode the wave of the new school of dubstep producers coming up the ranks and established Adam Prescott as a name to watch. Featuring killer verses from Dynamite MC alongside Jah Screechy's "Walk & Skank" classic, the track got big radio support from the likes of Mistajam and Ras Kwame alongside club support from Skream, Benga, Mala, Hatcha and loads more. With dubstep taking over the world, we thought it was high time to revisit this classic with some fresh remixes.
First up, Scotland's Mungo's Hi Fi turn in possibly one of their toughest remixes to date with a heavy steppers reworking, sounding ripe for some carnival action! Next, Black Butter's up-and-coming super producer Woz takes it deeper with a brutal bass driven refix that is sure to tear up any dancefloor. One of the names to watch on the jungle-breaks scene GOLD takes it back to the 90s with a rave-inspired remix and finally there's the original version, made available digitally for the first time.
Administered CPR in 2012 by Mungo’s Hifi, Woz and GOLD remixes, the mouth to mouth winners medal goes to Woz for a slipping a bit of dutty future dancehall tongue. 7/10 - DJ Mag
Nice package - full support - Barry Ashworth (Dub Pistols)
YES! the Gold mix has got me reaching for the lazers (and the vicks) - Mr Benn (Bristol Hifi)
Gold & Woz are two of my favorite producers at the moment. Good work. Will be playing out! - Andy H (Tuesday Club, Sheffield)
Yes! Love the Woz remix! - Kalbata (Soul Jazz)
Wozwers! Massive...just in time for the next festivals - Rob Da Bank (Radio 1)
Adam Prescott's excellent dubstep reworking of On A Ragga Tip gets the remix treatment here in fine style. Up and coming bassmusic producer Woz, gives the track a bouncy overhall with great percussion, whilst Gold gives it a euphoric old skool breakbeat rerub. The pick of the bunch however is Mungo's Hi fi fearsome karnival remix which ramps up the pressure and will get any crowd skanking without fail. - Trap Magazine
